Flats For Spring

I think we've had enough snow now - we want spring! These pretty leopard red leather ballerinas from French Sole are perfect for spring.

I do have two pair flats in black from French sole and they are so comfy. A pair of red shoes can't go wrong either, and I do lovel leopard prints..

Shoes And Their Quality

A girl can never have too many shoes, we all know that and so does Carrie Bradshaw (we don't have all her Manolos though). In our closet we might only find a few "quality" shoes, sleeping in their cute shoeboxes as Louboutins and other exclusive shoe labels are very pricey.

I remember one day in London, two years ago or something, when I wore a pair of black, patent wedges. They were from a store here in Sweden where you can get three pair of shoes for the price of two (bargain? Huh). The day started ok, I managed to walk in the shoes the first hours (note: with extra soles). They were made of some plastic material, no leather at all but they were very nice to look at. And cheap! In the end of the day my feet were swollen, red and miserable. I could hardly walk to our hotel and since that day I try to not buy heels or shoes made by anything less than leather or should I say quality shoes?

Get 11(!) H&M sandals or 1 pair of Celine sandals for the same price. Ok this was a huge
difference but you get it, haha.

H&M and other stores sell chic, cute heels for a low, budget price but they are usually not made by leather and they tend to not be comfortable. Of course, many heels/shoes made by leather can also be very hard to walk and not comfy but still expensive. My experince with cheap shoes hasn't been the best so I'd rather pay more for a pair of shoes I can walk in, than getting three for two.

Cheap vs. Expensive?
(It would be crazy to buy all your heels on net-a-porter. You can purchase great heels on eBay for a low price, new or used. Go shoe hunting!)

To Buy Or Not Buy..

These shoes from Acne are still on sale on their webshop. They got one single pair left, and it's a size 40 (hello destiny maybe?) but I'm not too sure if I want them. I do need a pair of black heels and these are quite fabulous. Hopefully it's a big size 40 or else I'll need to return them. Decision decision...
What do you think? Need to know asap!
Update: I'll wait to buy these beauties as I need to pay a dress before and I'm not 100 % sure if I want these.. What a huge problem in this world.. But I do need to know what you guys think of them, haha.

Rub(ber) My Feet

Bubblegum? Yes! These Vivienne Westwood + Melissa shoes actually smell like bubblegum or like these rubbers you had in school when you were ten years old, remember? Plastic fantastic shoes, eco friendly and they are also quite comfortable to walk in. One pair of plastic mary janes are here in my room and I'd like to buy more when I see that they have new Westwood + Melissa shoes from just £55!

A Pair Of Shoes Makes The Dark Day Bright

Sorry if I've been a bad blogger but tomorrow I'll be back with new posts! I do need to hurry now for le work but first I need something to eat. When you buy shoes from the internet, they might be too small or too wide if you don't know exactly what size you have and it can depend from brand to brand. One hour ago I went to the post office to get these babies; Sonia Rykiel heels size 40. Always nervous when I try new shoes... What if they are too small?! But they were perfect, like the hand in the glove! One of my friends think they don't look (shame on her!) good but I think they are cute!

Hope you all have a nice day!

The Couturier Of Shoes - Roger Vivier

Haute Couture is so fascinating, there is so much history behind all the perfect gounts, shoes and the people who wore it. From now on I'll try to write about specific person behind the couture every week and this week I'll start with the shoe couturier.

Mr Roger Vivier began to collaborate with Christian Dior in 1953 and one year later he had introduced the 3 inches stiletto heel. Before he started to create shoes for many French couture designers he worked at a workshop in Paris. After studying sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts he spent his apprenticeship at his relatives shoefactory.

Designer Elsa Schiaparelli was the first one who saw his talent and he started to design shoes for her collection. 1937 the same year when Elsa saw his shoes he also started his first shop in Paris. Everything seemed to go very well for him and the success didn't end here.

The first prêt-à-porter designer label shoes came in 1955, "Christian Dior created by Roger Vivier". Another well known designer Vivier collaborated with was Yves Saint Laurent after Mr Dior's death in 1957.

Corals, seed pearls, feathers, crystals. Decorated extravagancy is the style you find in his amazing shoes. A shoe fitting could usually take up to two hours for example with one of his many clients, Marlene Dietrich.

His designs are still her although he died in 1998 and I'm sure they'll stay for decades. You don't really forget the couturier of shoes.

With Good Comes Bad

When I was spent a few minutes on topshop.com yesterday I saw these red, sparkly glitter shoes. Ding! Where have I seen them before..I just figured out that they remind me of my friend Kim's red shoes. Ta daa.

I've been a bad blogger but I spent most of my time at my summer house yesterday. Very peaceful and harmonic, I was sitting all alone in the forest trying my hardest to find some screaming yellow chanterelles - and I found 'em. If someone saw me they would stare at my cozy outfit but that's the great thing about summer houses miles away, no one sees you or cares about how you look. I could just continue to happily enjoy my father's big boots and raincoat. But with good chanterelle luck, bad always comes. When I woke up this morning I found a über mini tick, stuck on my arm. C'est miserable!

Is it November allready?

It's not even close to my birthday (26th November) and I'm allready trying to make a little wishlist. As you all know, I'm a bit addicted to Miss Westwood but who is not? These low 3-strap shoes in silver are so pretty but they are £260. I could get them myself but I need to hold my wallet and save my money, sad. Thank god for ebay but you can't just sit and wait for these pretty babies to hit the screen and end up in your mailbox!
What's your ultimate present on your wishlist this year?

Painful love

It was a hectic day today. I've been waiting for these shoes to come now for a few days and yes they were finally here. The thing is that I'm a size 7 uk and 8 sometimes (big feet miji) and these shoes were size 7. I tried them on...had to squeeze in my foot a bit and yay they were on. I have to admit that my toes hurts a bit..but I can make it! Love hurts, right?

Hunting male trousers

La miji was in a male fitting room. Trying trousers for men. Yes, that's right. I bet if someone saw me, they would have laughed. Defo! Anyway. These trousers are from Whyred, £58. Hmprf. Not so baggy and tight like you want them though..Lovely tights miss miji!
I was at the Filippa K store again and sadly they didn't sell the pair I was looking for but they had a lot of other nice stuff. It was also 50% on almost everything except the fall collection (8 new stuff or something). Shirts, chinos and nice t-shirts. All guys should wear Filippa K, it looks so so good! Mr J hun, you can check here cus I'm uploading these photos for you so you can see what trousers they had, and let me know what you think about them (the beige trousers were in black).
I've just realized that there is a lot of nice swedish brands! I'd love to have a pair of these Acne shoes (or maybe all of them?). And the Acne dress!! And more dresses from Minimarket! Yes please. Time to save up! Now; workout. x

Photo of the day

Yesterday; Naomi in a coat. Today; la miji in her trenchcoat! This photo is from last fall and I really like the autumn feeling with the yellow and orange colours.

Tomorrow I'll be staying at our summer house so no blogging 'til I'm back on sunday.
Have an amazing weekend. xo

Ps: These are one of my fav shoes. They are so comfy to walk with, hooray. AND so cheap (hooray2). I was a bit late to send it in to coco's tea party tho..haha!
